Gilbert Elementary recently hosted its annual Celebration of Learning, highlighting student academic progress and the school's unique campus culture. The event featured classroom displays of literacy and entrepreneurship alongside musical and Folklorico performances.
Hello! I am Vanessa Molina, and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Gilbert Elementary. I have been teaching for two years, and my absolute favorite thing about this grade is seeing the incredible growth that happens in such a short amount of time.

At Gilbert Elementary, students in the Dual-Language Spanish Immersion program do more than learn in two languages—they grow as confident thinkers, communicators, and leaders. By mastering academic content in both Spanish and English while celebrating culture through meaningful experiences, students build strong skills that prepare them to thrive in an interconnected world.

Gilbert Public Schools welcomed 172 new Kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers for the 2026-2027 school year! With support from campus principals, instructional coaches, and district leadership, our newest educators spent the day preparing to inspire students across our 38 campuses.

At his final meeting, the GPS Governing Board celebrated Dr. McCord for fostering an open, transparent governance culture between district administration, families, and the community.
“The culture of this district is relationships,” commented Dr. McCord. “We can have goals, we can have strategies, and we can have excellent test scores, and we can have missions, but none of that matters if we don’t have a heart.”
